Moses plays for 88 minutes as Chelsea down Arsenal


Super Eagles forward Victor Moses posted and impressive 88 minutes action Saturday as Chelsea hammered visiting Arsenal 3-1 at the Stamford Bridge.

The Nigerian international who gave a good account of himself producing breath taking moves on the wings to the delight of Blues fans.

The opening goal was thanks to effective cross by the former Wigan Athletic ace, which was effectively sealed by teammate Marcos Alonso in the 13th minute. Belgian import Eden Hazard and Fabregas increased the tally in the 53rd and 85th minute respectively.

The Nigerian international earned a seven out of ten rating in the match being at par with only kante, Costa and Hazard getting a rating or two above him by independent assessors.

The victory for Chelsea coach Antonie Conte is not just about three points but also represents sweet revenge as he the Blues equally suffered a 3-0 demolition at the Emirates in September.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger however frowned at the opening goal insisting it was a foul and should have been ruled out.

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin had to go off after being caught in the face by Alonso’s forearm as the wing-back leapt to put Chelsea in front in the 13th minute.


“It was a foul. It was 100 percent a foul. It was even dangerous play,” said Wenger, who watched the game from the stands as he served the third game of a four-match touchline ban.
